To be eligible to apply as a RYLA team or program Counselor, you must have been a RYLA Delegate at either the Camp Pinerock, Camp Ponderosa, Or Virtual RYLA.
General counselor duties with the RYLA event include attendance at all team counselor meetings, leading breakout sessions, facilitating group discussions, and other miscellaneous duties. Serving as a RYLA counselor necessitates strong leadership, flexibility, empathy, and reliance on the 4-Way Test in making decisions.
There are two required events that counselors must attend:
Staff training
Saturday, October 1, 2022 (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) in the Scottsdale area
RYLA camp--Thursday afternoon, October 6 Meet at Fountain Hills Tractor Supply parking lot at 3 pm to head to camp. Dinner in Payson. Arrive at Camp Ponderosa around 7:30 pm. Leave camp on Monday, October 10 around 2 pm back to Fountain Hills Tractor Supply. Must supply own transportation to/from Tractor Supply.

You should receive an email copy of your completed application. Please save this for possible future reference.
You will be contacted by email shortly after the completion of your application with further counselor information.
